About Hindi Department

Bangabasi Evening College had developed as a section of Bangabasi College. However it was only in 1965 that the present Bangabasi Evening College emerged as an independently functioning unit. The Department of Sanskrit was established in 1965. The Department had formed an integral part of college since its inception. The course offered to this institution is Undergraduate Course. According to New Educational Policy (NEP) of CU under Curriculum and Credit Framework (CCF 2022) the Department offers 4 year Honours Cum Research Course and 3 year General Cum Multidisciplinary Courses. The college conducts Unit Tests, Mid-Term Test, Annual Test, Test Examinations before the Final University Examinations and other internal examinations to help the students prepare for the University examinations. Participation of the department in the courses offered by other departments The B.A. students opting for Hindi Honours have to study two other general subjects like Bengali, English, Hindi, Philosophy, Economics, History etc. as Generic (Gen) and 3 Inter-Disciplinary (ID) Subjects for both Hons and Gen students of BA. It is run by two efficient substantive teachers and a State Aided College Teacher (SACT) at present. No post remains vacant.
